Fliying to La Paz (LAP)

Volaris Airlines offers direct flights from Tijuana at very resasonable prices, it also flies directly from Mexico City. Aeromexico is another good option when connecting with Mexico City.

Fliying to Cabo (SJD)

Almost all major airlines fly to San Jose del Cabo, just 139 miles south of La Paz. Then to get here we recommend:

  • If it is your first time in Cabo and La Paz, take the shuttle bus to La Paz, it is very comfortable and only stops once or twice along the way. Book it at www.ecobajatours.com Price around USD$30 per person. Then take a taxi to Marina Cortez for about $7
  • Or, hire a private van that takes you straight to La Paz; Turispancho, the transportation company we use, has worked bringing people to La Paz for over 7 years. They can also stop before getting to Paraiso del Mar to pick up groceries or anything you need.
  • If you have been here before and decide to do a little adventure,  rent a car at the airport and we can send you maps on how to get to Marina Cortez.

Before you leave Home

Cellphone- Arrange with your cellphone provider to have service in Mexico.

Dvds- if your unit doesn’t have  Dish or Sky Tv system consider bringing movies, there are DVD players in all units.

Kindle reader- download all the books you want to read during your vacation, it probably won’t be possible once you are in Mexico as you will be using a Mexican IP address.

Maps- Print all the maps you need, specially if you are driving your own rental car.

Passport – you really need it.

Arrange a time to meet your Property Manager at Marina Cortez. There isn’t an office at the Marina to wait, neither a front desk, please send us all the flight information, and the details needed to set up a time.

Once you get to Baja

Change your dollars for pesos at Airport, sometimes better rate than in town, airport transfers do take US Dollars, and well as many restaurants, but supermarkets, small shops and local markets have different policies regarding dollars. Visa and Master card are the only cards taken in most of Restaurants and Shops.

If you are driving your own rental car, read our recommendations here.

There is free parking by the Marina Cortez and also paid parking for around $35 per week which you can arrange when you get to the pier.

How to get to Paraiso del Mar

It is located at a peninsula across from La Paz bay called El Mogote. Paraiso del Mar has a free boat that departs from Marina Cortez, it is only a 10 minute ride to the Resort; the Marina is very well located right in downtown, with private and public parking. Marina Cortez is on Abasolo and Marquez de Leon Street by Stella Restaurant.

Once you get to Paraiso del Mar dock, a driver will take you to your rental home or condo.
